John Wick is once again battling to the death in the biggest (and longest) movie ever. But if you make it through his 170 minutes or so of John Wick: Chapter 4, you'll at least get a little extra reward at the end.

In the latest installment in the series about an assassin who just wants to put down his gun and live in peace, there's a scene at the end of the credits. It's not long and doesn't entirely define the plot, but it's thematically relevant, co-writers Michael Finch and Shea Hutten said in a recent interview with Polygon. Pretty cool. Either way, a good reason to stay. But if you can't do that, or need a little explanation, here's what happens in the John Wick post-credits scene: Chapter 4.

John Wick: Chapter 4 ends ceremoniously with John's funeral. After the credits, we see Kane (Donnie Yen) walking to his daughter with a bouquet of flowers. As he walks through the crowd, Akira (Marina Sawaya) approaches him and draws a blade to avenge the death of her father Shimazu (Hiroyuki Sanada) whom Cain killed earlier in the film.

Finch and Hutten told Polygon that the thirst for revenge is at the heart of the scene.

Finch told that "One of the themes he had in this piece was to show that the table reaches vertically," The High Table is the oft-cited shadowy organization that controls the assassins in the John Wick movies. "She's leaving with all her might because of the events happening in the Osaka continent. What she doesn't understand, and what we're trying to demonstrate, is that once she's at the table, she can't get out. She was trapped when Kane said [...] "I'll be waiting for you." He knows she's coming because she's part of the table. ...] She's all about it, she's going to pursue Kane for revenge.Her story is in many ways that of John Wick. "

All of this contributes to the series' themes, such as revenge and the idea that the High Table stands above the most legendary assassins serving under them, but it also contributes to the film's exciting storyline. It's a small culmination - or maybe it's the future of the series.
